The Iconoclast was a student literary publication consisting primarily of short stories and other creative writing. This short-lived publication was produced in 1960 and dedicated to English professor, Peter Dow Webster, who had passed away on 30 October 1959. English professor, Jack R. Brownfield, whom Webster taught at Norwich from 1959-1961, acted as faculty advisor for the Iconoclast. Student associate editors included Joseph H. Felter of the class of 1962 and Peter H. Luce of the class of 1961.

Computer center, ca. 1960s About the Information Technology Department

The Norwich University information technology (IT) department supports all academic and administrative computing and telecommunications. Information technology is comprised of the computer services department, the telecommunications department, the center for academic technology (CAT) and the information operations development center. IT is managed by a director of information technology services under the vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty.

About the Collection

The collection contains computer committee records as well as other correspondence, memoranda, and notes of those involved in the design of a new computer center, 1965-1967. Also included are undated floor plans of Dewey Hall kept as part of the discussion pertaining to the location and layout of the proposed computer center. There are also miscellaneous computer regulations and policies, computer services department reports, 1992-1993, and user manuals. A complete list of reports and user manuals is included in the more complete content listing below. Some of the early materials within the collection, 1965-1967, may have been transferred to the archives by mathematics professor Jane Wehe Bonnette.

About the International Students Office

The international students office, formerly the foreign students office, assists students with visa questions, community integration and advises on programs in foreign lands. The office is managed by an international students coordinator under the associate vice-president for academic affairs.

About the Collection

The collection contains administrative records from the international students office. At the time the records were created, the foreign students office also administered the Peace Corps Preparatory program and the community service program. The records were sent to the archives by the office of the provost in 2006. A content listing of files within the collection can be found below.
